Penticton Dragon Boat Festival

September 9 and 10, 2023 – The Penticton Dragon Boat Festival began in 2000. Originally held on Okanagan Lake, the festival has now found its home at the beautiful Skaha Lake Park, which offers the perfect race site for racers and spectators alike. Teams love the fleet of Millennium boats and the warm fresh water sandy beach for loading and unloading. With plenty of room for the team village, lots of sun and shade, plus a wide array of food and merchandise vendors and a happening beer garden, we think you will find the Penticton Dragon Boat Festival ranks as one of the best.

Race Management

Don Mulhall has provided the race management for the Penticton Dragon Boat Festival for all of its 14 years. Formerly with GO Rowing & Paddling Association, Don has also provided race management for some of BC’s bigger dragon boat and outrigger events – Nanaimo, Kelowna, BC Senior’s Games (various locations) and Vernon. Using Millennium dragon boats, our fleet is consistently trouble-free, and ‘consistently consistent’ (identical hulls in all races – not a combination of different boats and manufacturers).
